1140 Productions Presents ROMEO AND JULIET, Now thru 7/27

By:

1140 Productions adapts William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet for a contemporary audience. While still maintaining the Shakespearean language, this version, Romeo Juliet, clashes the classical language with a contradictory style that changes this setting of woe into a nondescript time or place, making it even more relevant and haunting than ever. The small cast, absent of all parental figures, portrays the lovers' tale exaggerating the impulsive passion of neglected youth. 1140 Production's Romeo Juliet is a raw, visually stunning, melancholic spin on the classic tale.

1140 Productions is dedicated to artistic transformation and inspiration; it aims to bring diverse and passionately driven works to the Southern California stage. Romeo Juliet performs at Live Arts LA (4210 Panamint St, Los Angeles, CA) as an independent production. Performances are tonight, July 18 (7PM), 19 (8PM), 20 (7PM), 25 (7PM), 26 (8PM) and 27 (7PM). Tickets are $10 online and $15 at the door.
