The Long Island Repertory Co. presents DOUBT: A PARABLE
The Long Island Repertory Co. is presenting Doubt: A Parable, John Patrick Shanley's Pulitzer Prize winning play, at Theater 294 in East Farmingdale April 21 to May 6.
Jennifer Alexander, Judith Anderson, Charles Calabrese and Adrienne Pellegrino star in this play that looks at how doubt itself can be as powerful a force as certainty.
Doubt originally debuted at the Manhattan Theatre Club, moved to the Walter Kerr Theatre on Broadway and became an Academy Award-nominated movie starring Philip Seymour Hoffman as Father Flynn and Meryl Streep as Sister Aloysius.
After allegations sow doubt in the minds of a congregation, the congregation is faced with a decision as to how to determine truth, what's right and what to do.
"Doubt can be a bond as powerful and sustaining as certainty," Father Flynn says in this play that remains as contemporary and powerful as the day it was first produced.
