Photo Flash: First Look at Hampton Theatre's GOOD PEOPLE

By:
"Good People," a tough and tender new play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire, launches the Hampton Theatre Company's 28th season. Get a first look at the production, running now through November 11, 2012, below!

Depicting the insurmountable divide between past and present and between those who make it and those who don't, "Good People" is the winner of the 2011 Horton Foote prize for outstanding new American Play. The play, which explores the moral dilemmas that shape our lives with compassion and humor, will be performed at the Quogue Community Hall Thursdays through Sundays for three weeks.

The cast of six combines well-known company veterans with a team of talented actors making their debut on the HTC stage. Morgan Vaughan plays Margaret, a single mother from South Boston struggling to survive after losing her minimum wage job—a role originated on Broadway last year by Frances McDormand. Joe Pallister, seen most recently on the HTC stage as Randle P. McMurphy in ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, plays Margie's erstwhile boyfriend turned successful doctor, Mikey Dillon.

Nehassaiu deGannes, who appeared across from Alec Baldwin in Guild Hall's production of "Equus," plays Mike's wife Kate. HTC Artistic Director Diana Marbury, last seen on stage as the psychic Helga ten Dorp in last season's "Deathtrap," plays Margie's landlady Dottie. Linda May brings a string of Long Island credits to her HTC debut as Margie's friend Jean; Brennan Vickery plays Margie's young boss at the Dollar Store.

"Good People" will be presented on Thursdays at 7, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 and Sundays at 2:30. Ticket prices are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors (except Saturdays) and $10 for students under 21.
