From the acclaimed Quebec troupe Le Théâtre Motus comes Baobab, a cross-cultural adventure for ages 6 - 11 at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Thursday, December 5 at 10:00am & 12:30pm. The show runs about 60 minutes and uses puppets, live actors and musicians to depict a magical legend of the Baobab tree. All tickets are $10 and can be purchased by contacting Cheryl Wheeler at 631-288-2350 ext 102.

In West Africa, where a drought has been persisting for many years, there stands an enormous and ancient baobab tree. One day, the ancient baobab brings forth an egg and from this egg is born a little boy. The people in the village give the boy what little they have and through their kindness discover that he is the only one who can bring forth the life-giving water they need. And so begins a legendary, epic quest that will ultimately change the world. Told through African percussion, joyful singing, magical puppetry and innovative stage effects, this performance is a total cultural experience.
