Creative Team Announced For 'THE FOREIGNER'

By:

The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport has announced the creative team for the upcoming comedy THE FOREIGNER running January 22 - February 22, 2009.

THE FOREIGNER is being produced for the John W. Engeman Theater by RICHARD T. DOLCE, the theater's Producing Artistic Director.

BT McNicholl will direct the hilarious comedy. BT is currently represented on Broadway with BILLY ELLIOT as the resident Director and returns to the John W. Engeman Theater after directing the hit comedy LEND ME A TENOR last season.

The Assistant Director is KATHERINE CARTER who Assistant Directed BILLY ELLIOT with BT McNicholl.

The Casting Director is STEPHEN DEANGELISwho has cast all of the John W. Engeman Theaters main stage productions to date.

The designers are Court Watson (Set Designer), Gail Baldoni (Costume Designer), DAVID PREMACK (Sound Designer), MARTIN E. VREELAND (Lighting Designer), JEENA YOON (Prop Designer), and Mark Adam Rampmeyer (Hair and Wig Designer). CJ LaROCHE serves as production stage manager once again for the theater.

THE FOREIGNER is set in a fishing lodge in rural Georgia; "Froggy" LeSeuer, a British demolition expert, has brought along his pathologically shy friend, Charlie. Before departing, "Froggy" tells all assembled that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. Once alone the fun really begins, as Charlie overhears more than he should. Charlie's little white lie fuels the nonstop hilarity of this play and sets up the wildly funny climax in which things go uproariously awry for the "bad guys." This inspired comic romp was the winner of two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards as Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production.

Tickets are NOW ON SALE and are $50. Tickets may be purchased by calling (631) 261-2900, by visiting www.engemantheater.com, or at the Engeman Theater Box Office at 250 Main Street, Northport. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express accepted.
