Bay Street Theater to Take Part in Giving Tuesday
Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce Bay Street Theater's Annual End of Year Appeal that will launch on November 29 to coincide with Giving Tuesday.
#GivingTuesday, is a global giving movement that has been driven by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. Since its founding in 2012, millions of people have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live.
Bay Street Theater's fundraising goal is $250,000 for the End of Year Appeal to support theatrical and educational programming.
#GivingTuesday is a day for giving back and it celebrates generosity by providing people everywhere with an opportunity to give more, give smarter, and give great. It is about ordinary people coming together to do extraordinary things.
According to the national organization, in dozens of towns, cities, regions and states from Alaska to Maine, and Charlotte NC to Dallas TX, people are embracing this day as an opportunity to raise money for local nonprofits, schools and arts organizations; teach children about philanthropy; encourage acts of kindness; collaborate with their neighbors; and celebrate generosity.
Bay Street has been a home to countless artists over the years. As per Executive Director, Tracy Mitchell, "In 2016 Bay Street celebrated its 25th Anniversary and we are poised to move into the next 25 years with the same energy, talent and initiative that is our trademark. Please help us to reach our goal to ensure that we finish this banner year on solid footing, and move forward with gusto into the exciting year ahead."
Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is a year-round, not-for-profit professional theater and community cultural center which endeavors to innovate, educate, and entertain a diverse community through the practice of the performing arts. We serve as a social and cultural gathering place, an educational resource, and a home for a community of artists.
