The Arts and Science Center will be presenting Christmas Belles on December 8 - 10 at 7:30 pm and December 11 at 2:00 pm.

Christmas Belles, a soon to be classic Southern comedy, is authored by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, a trio of talented writers from Asheville, N.C.

Christmas Belles is a Southern comedy and is the second in a trilogy of plays. The three playwrights have impressive backgrounds: Jessie Jones co-authored the play, Dearly Departed, as well as its screen adaptation, Kingdom Come; Nicholas Hope won the Texas New Playwright's Festival for his first play, A Friend Of The Family and was Director of Casting for ABC Television in Los Angeles; and North Carolina native Jamie Wooten has written and produced nearly four hundred episodes of network television, including four seasons on the classic series, The Golden Girls. All three playwrights were born and raised in the pre-Wal-Mart South and cherish their heritage. They write about the South they know best - the South of their childhoods before the great homogenization of American culture had taken hold.

In Christmas Belles, a church Christmas pageant spins wildly out of control as three squabbling sisters try to reign in the mayhem. Amidst an ailing Santa, a vengeful sheep, and a reluctant Elvis impersonator, a family secret emerges that just might derail the entire production. And on top of everything else, the pageant will be shown live on cable access television for the first time ever. Christmas Belles will bring joy to your world!

Individual Ticket Prices are $11-$15.
