On Leung stepping in for the previously announced Constantine Maroulis, the director of Studio 7Arts said:

"As the saying goes, "The show must go on"! Everyday changes are made last minute, it's the nature of the game. Scripts, choreography, and casts are always changing and evolving. We are sad to announce that actor Constantine Maroulis is no longer able to be a Guest Teaching Artist on Friday March 7 at Reno Little Theater. However, we are incredibly happy to announce that another amazing artist is able to step into the role as Guest Teaching Artist! If you have heard of the hit TV show Glee, or have seen the DVD of the final Broadway cast of Rent, then perhaps you may know Telly Leung!! His credits, like any actor at his level are endless, but please read his incredible bio or visit his website to watch and hear his amazing talents!

As an aspiring dancer, actor and singer myself who is from Reno, NV and was lucky enough to make it to The Great White Way in the original cast of Rock of Ages, I'm beyond delighted to bring these wonderful opportunities to my hometown for the future generation of performers! I owe so much to all of my teachers who gave me the skills and opportunities to help make me into the artist I am today! It is my goal to continue to inspire the already outstanding arts community in Northern NV. In accordance to my mission statement and because NV holds the highest unemployment rate since the recession, S7A will NOT turn away any student due to inability to pay for class. We also encourage those with disabilities to attend!

A veteran of Rent's final Broadway cast, Telly Leung made his Broadway debut in the 2002 revival of Flower Drum Song. He starred in the first Broadway revival of Pacific Overtures in 2004 and originated the role of Boq in the Chicago company of Wicked. Leung was also featured as a member of the Dalton Academy Warblers opposite Darren Criss on the second season of TV's Glee. He returned to Broadway in the 2011 revival of Godspell. His next Broadway project will be starring opposite Lea Salonga and Geroge Takei in Allegiance, a new American musical about the internment of Japanese-Americans after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He has performed all over the world at venues like Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, the London Hippodrome, New York's 54 Below, and the Hollywood Bowl. His debut album, {i'll cover you}, was released on The Yellow Sound Label in 2012. Telly holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University, and has taught as an adjunct professor at NYU's New Studio on Broadway.
