Super Summer Theatre and United Production Works present "ARSENIC AND OLD LACE" to run the month of September at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. Directed by Troy Heard, this lively comic masterpiece will delight the Super Summer Theatre audience.

The classic play is a farcical comedy revolving around Mortimer Brewster, a drama critic who must deal with his crazy, homicidal family and local police in Brooklyn, NY, as he debates whether to go through with his recent promise to marry the woman he loves. His family includes two spinster aunts who have taken to murdering lonely old men by poisoning them with a glass of homemade elderberry wine laced with arsenic, strychnine, and "just a pinch" of cyanide; a brother who believes he is Teddy Roosevelt, and a murderous brother who has received plastic surgery performed by an alcoholic accomplice, Dr. Einstein. Because of this streak of insanity in his family, Mortimer believes he must not marry and carry on the family line, until a late reprieve saves the day.

Arsenic and Old Lace is a play by the American playwright Joseph Kesselring, written in 1939. It has become best known through the film adaptation starring Cary Grant and directed by Frank Capra.

The show will open on Thursday, September 4th at 7:05pm and will play every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening through September 20th. Tickets are $12.95 and can be purchased online at supersummertheatre.org. For more information visit unitedproductionworks.com.
