Seniors Dreams to be Granted at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino Next Week

By: Jul. 13, 2011

Working with Second Wind Dreams, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors, the Caesars Foundation and Caesars Entertainment Corporation will make life a little fuller for five Valley seniors as they grant their life-long dreams. The July 20 event will take place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Miranda Room.

Second Wind Dreams is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors living in elder care communities (nursing homes, assisted living, hospice, etc.) and changing the perception of aging. Wishes that are granted fall into five categories including fun, life long, relationship, need, reliving the past and quality of life and range from no cost to the thousands of dollars to support.

"Taking part in granting more than 600 Second Wind Dreams wishes during the past two years has been an extraordinary opportunity for the Caesars Foundation and company employees," said Jan Jones, Senior Vice President of Communications and Government Relations for Caesars Entertainment. "We cannot think of a better way to help seniors in our communities find fulfillment and joy in the twilight of their lives."

Since 2009, the Caesars Foundation has given more than $650,000 ($250,000 given in 2011) in donations and in kind contributions to make dreams a reality. Nationally, Caesars Entertainment engages its resorts in five regions including Las Vegas, New Orleans, Hammond, IND, Rincon/ San Diego and Atlantic City in Second Wind Dreams work.

"The value of the support that we have received from Caesars Foundation and Caesars Entertainment is immeasurable," said P.K. Beville, Founder and President of Second Wind Dreams. "The volunteers go above and beyond making these unique experiences possible for our seniors."
