Jon Lovitz To Perform At Excalibur 9/15-10/1

For 20 years, Jon Lovitz has been one of the most popular and successful comedians in the industry. He has performed everywhere from Broadway to "Saturday Night Live" and for the last two years has headlined in nightclubs, theaters and casinos across the country. Lovitz now will bring his distinctive and hilarious routine to Excalibur September 15 - October 1.

Early on, Lovitz performed in high school plays and studied acting with Tony Barr at the Film Actors Workshop. In 1985, he accepted an offer to perform regularly on "Saturday Night Live" and within his first two years on the show earned an Emmy® Award. He became well-known for many of the show's characters including Tommy Flanagan of Pathological Liars Anonymous, Master Thespian and Hanukkah Harry.

Lovitz has dabbled in several mediums of comedy including movies and television shows alike. He has appeared in more than 30 movies including "Big," "A League of Their Own," "The Wedding Singer," "High School High," "Small Time Crooks" and "Rat Race." He has worked with some of the best directors of comedy including Penny Marshall, Rob Reiner, Jerry Zucker and Woody Allen, the man who influenced Lovitz to be a comedian.

The popular comedian has also become well-known for his distinctive voice. Lovitz was the lead voice of the character Jay Sherman in the acclaimed cult cartoon series "The Critic" and has performed voiceovers for numerous animated features including "American Tale: Fievel Goes West," "Cats and Dogs" and "Eight Crazy Nights." He also has worked on "The Simpsons" many times and created the character "Artie Ziff," Marge Simpson's boyfriend.

The show is produced by Adam Steck, CEO of SPI Entertainment, and will run Sunday - Thursday at 7 p.m.; dark Friday and Saturday. Guests must be 18 years of age or older.
