DREAMGIRLS, the smash hit musical about an up-and-coming 1960s singing girl group, debuts in Las Vegas at West Las Vegas Theatre, tonight, March 7 & 8, 7PM and March 9 & 10, 2013 at 1:30PM. With music by Academy Award nominee Henry Krieger and lyrics and book by Tony and Grammy-winning Tom Eyen, it features the unforgettable hits, "One Night Only", "I Am Changing" and the powerhouse ballet "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going." DREAMGIRLS, which was made into an award-winning film, is presented by A Source Of Joy Theatricals and will mark the second production of 2013 Broadway In The Hood - Las Vegas Season.

Full of onstage joy and backstage drama, DREAMGIRLS tells the triumphs and tribulations that come with fame and fortune. Hopeful talents Deena Jones (Cierra Love), Lorrell Robinson (Ebonie Ladd) and Effie White (Muna Hiluf & Dani Corley) are performing as The Dreamettes when ambitious agent Curtis Taylor, Jr. (John Joseph) discovers them. He lands them a job as backup singers for the soul and rock 'n' roll sensation James "Thunder" Early (Andrew Mays) and begins to guide their quickly rising career. However, when the beautiful Deena emerges as the star of the group rather than the full-voiced Effie, the girls are brought to personal and professional crossroads.

DREAMGIRLS will feature a cast of Las Vegas locals comprised of former drug dealers, former gang bangers, former prostitutes, as well as talented teachers, pastors, students and community members who have lived in or are present living in battered women & children shelters. DREAMGIRLS Las Vegas will not only entertain you, it but will inspire you and your entire family to "Just Dream!"

DREAMGIRLS was adapted into a motion picture by DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures and opened in December 2006. The film, starring Beyoncé Knowles as Deena, Jamie Fox as Curtis, Eddie Murphy as James "Thunder" Early and Jennifer Hudson as Effie, won two Academy Awards, five Golden Globes and two Screen Actor's Guild Awards in 2007.

DREAMGIRLS is directed by Torrey Russell & Tianna Lewis with Musical Direction by Megan Schnizlein and choreographed by Avree Walker with additional choreography by Aneisha Hall, scenic design by Theatrical Entertainment Worldwide, costume design by Preston Coghill, and technical direction by Henry "BJ" Jackson with lighting & sound provided by AVI-SPI Rentals Las Vegas. DREAMGIRLS is produced by A Source Of Joy Theatricals and will sparkle like never before!
