The award-winning comedy show Right Between the Ears hauls its big bag of radio spoofery to Kansas City for a live performance at the 2014 Hear NOW Festival -- Saturday, June 21 at 7:30pm at Community Christian Church, 4601 Main. Joining the Right Between the Ears cast for this special performance are singer/actress Barbara Rosenblat, "the Meryl Streep of audiobooks" and a Broadway/TV veteran; and 10-time Audie Award-winner, actor and BBC broadcaster Simon Vance.

The Hear NOW Festival is the audio equivalent of a film festival for contemporary storytelling in all its forms: classic radio theatre, audiobooks, experimental narrative and more. The four-day festival, June 19-22, will offer numerous live and recorded performances at venues throughout Kansas City.

With over 400 audiobook titles to her credit, Barbara Rosenblat has been named one of Audiofile Magazine's "Golden Voices". She's appeared in London's West End theatre, worked for the BBC, British film and television and performed on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning musical The Secret Garden and the critically acclaimed revival of Eric Bogosian's Talk Radio starring Liev Schrieber. On TV, Barbara has appeared in Law and Order SVU, Tales of the Unexpected and The Guiding Light; her film credits include Little Shop of Horrors and Reds.

Named a "Golden Voice" by Audiofile Magazine and a "Voice of Choice" by Booklist Magazine, Simon Vance was a presenter for BBC Radio 4 before moving to the U.S. Called "the gold standard of narrators" by author Neal Gaiman, he has recorded more than 700 audiobooks, including the Audie Award-winning The Complete Sherlock Holmes. On TV, Simon has appeared in Criminal Minds, Nash Bridges and The Evidence, plus lending his distinctive voice to such video games as Carmen Sandiego's Great Chase Through Time and King's Quest VII: The Princeless Bride.

Tickets for this special live performance of Right Between the Ears are $10.00 until June 1 ($15.00 thereafter) and are on sale now at www.rightbetweentheears.com.

Soon to celebrate its 30th anniversary, Right Between the Ears is a four-time winner of the Gold Medal as Best Comedy Show at the New York Festivals, and is broadcast every week on Kansas Public Radio stations (91.5, Lawrence; 89.7, Emporia; 91.3, Junction City; 99.5 Manhattan; and 90.3 Chanute). The show has also been heard on National Public Radio, Sirius-XM and BBC Radio 4. Darrell Brogdon is the show's creator and producer.
