No Way to Treat A Lady, running March 4th through April 17th at American Heartland Theatre is an uproarious, sexy musical that gives new meaning to the phrase "knock em dead"! Written by Douglas J. Cohen, the show is based on the best selling novel by William Goldman (The Princess Bride, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid) and adapted as a movie of the same name, this audaciously histrionic caper is sure to please. A serial killer is on the prowl, and Detective Morris Brummell is on the case. Can he find the killer, get the girl, and pacify his disgruntled, overbearing mother -- all before the next chorus? It's a devilish blend of humor, romance, murder and music with four amazing actors playing seventeen roles.

This darkly comic thriller comes to life with an ensemble of talented Kansas City actors and American Heartland Theatre favorites. Cathy Barnett (Flora) returns to AHT after last season's hit The Dixie Swim Club. Locally Cathy has performed all around town, including The New Theater, Actors Theater of Kansas City, Unicorn Theatre and Kansas City Repertory Theatre. She has toured nationally and internationally in both Forbidden Broadway and Forbidden Hollywood. Cathy has also traveled across the nation as Louise in Always, Patsy Cline. She has entertained as a stand-up comedienne in New York, appearing with Lewis Black at the West Bank Cafe. She also portrays the Hallmark greeting card character, "Maxine," and can give you directions to anywhere you want to go as the voice of the Garmin GPS Navigation Systems. Tim Scott (Detective Brummell) is also returning to AHT where he last appeared as George Bailey in It's A Wonderful Life, a role that garnered him a "BEST OF KANSAS CITY" Award from The Pitch. Tim has performed all over the country in nationally touring productions of Beauty and the Beast as well as the title role in Robin Hood, The Musical. Locally, Tim has been seen frequenting the stages of the Quality Hill Playhouse, The Coterie Theatre, Starlight Theatre, The Unicorn Theatre, and Musical Theater Heritage. He also serves as Co-Producer and Emcee for Musical Theatre Heritage's Musical Mondays series. Tim can also be found at Kauffman Stadium during baseball season as the in-game emcee for the Kansas City Royals.

Jon Daugharthy (Kit) returns to AHT after his debut in I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Jon has appeared locally at the Quality Hill Playhouse, New Theatre, the Chestnut, with the Kansas City Symphony, and the Festival Choral Society. Other credits include Tokyo Disneyland, Busch Gardens, Opryland Productions, and numerous television commercials. Lauren Braton (Sarah Stone) was most recently seen at AHT in last summer's production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Locally, she has appeared at Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Quality Hill Playhouse, Musical Theater Heritage, Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre, and Civic Opera Theater of Kansas City. Lauren's regional credits include productions at Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre and Seagle Music Colony in New York. Musical accompaniment is provided by Jeremy Watson (Piano/Conductor) and Jay Miller (Percussion).

Paul Hough (Direction) has directed more than 45 productions at American Heartland Theatre. Paul holds L.A. Drama Critic's Awards and Chicago Joseph Jefferson Citations for both Direction and Production and a Kansas City Best of Theatre Award for Production. Musical Direction is by Anthony T. Edwards, with Assistant Musical Direction by Jeremy Watson.
