MTH Theater at Crown Center releases details on upcoming Gala, A GRAND NIGHT scheduled Saturday, September 23.
The 20 year old non profit theater company is hosting a party in grand fashion to help reach their annual public support goals, and it looks to be the biggest party in Kansas City outside of New Years Eve.
The event begins with a 90 minute promenade-style cocktail hour in which all three venues at MTH will be used to highlight 3 different entertainment acts. Kansas City's very popular Motown and funk band 2 PROUD 2 BEG will be perfroming in MTH's newly renovated Studio Theater, while the 12 piece PEOPLE'S LIBERATION BIG BAND (fresh off their inspiring turn in MTH's recent production of 'An Evening with George Gershwin') will be perfroming in MTH's 133 seat Stage 2, and finally Ensemble Iberica's internationally acclaimed guitar virtuoso, Beau Bledsoe will be performing in MTH's Main stage venue.
In addition to the open bar, the cocktial hour also includes a buffet-style supper provided by over a dozen unique restaraunt sponsors!
Following the cocktail hour, MTH has put together a 60 minute show highlighting the five highest-grossing musicals of 2017. Tunes from Hamilton, Wicked, The Lion King, and more! The star-studded ensemble includes Joseph Carr, Tyler Fromson, Megan Hererra, Ryan Hruza, Patrick Lewallwen, Emma Mae Marsten, Fisher Stewart, Lily Nichols, Pancho Villegas, and Stafanie Wienecke; with Jeremy Watson on Piano, Joey Panella on Bass, Joe Levens on Guitar, and Tod Barnard on Drums. The show is Produced and Directed by Tim Scott, with Musical Direction by Jeremy Watson.
Following the show, MTH is hosting a Motown dance party as only 2 PROUD 2 BEG can inspire. The evening is sure to sweep you off your feet.
A GRAND NIGHT is MTH's largest and most important fundraiser of the year and helps to provide employment for over 340 actors, singers & theater technicians, as well as MTH's summer camp program for kids.
