Chad Gerlt Named Executive Director of MTH Theater
The Board of Directors of MTH Theater at Crown Center is pleased to announce that the company's former COO, Chad Gerlt was named Executive Director January 1st, 2017.
George Harter, founder and former Executive Director of MTH, will remain on board as a writer/producer, to give pre-show talks and continue offering theater trips to New York and London.
Harter founded Musical Theater Heritage in 1998 with the sole mission of launching his radio program 'A Night on the Town' into national syndication. In 2003 Chad Gerlt joined the organization when MTH began producing live musical theater projects in Kansas City.
'Chad started as a marketing strategist and doing most of our design work' Harter said. 'It was just him and me for the first few years. We had the weekly radio series on 105 stations, up to seven theater trips every year. Our local Theater Productions were limited to one weekend on a loading dock at the Belger Cartage Company. It seems impossible as I look back on it.'
'Chad's loyalty, his creativity and his people skills make him the logical choice as our founder George Harter begins to cut-back on his duties and responsibilities', said Robert Loyd, MTH's board President.
Harter retired his 35 year old radio program 'A Night on the Town' at the end of 2015.
He donated the entire program archive to Kansas Public Radio in Lawrence. The station still airs the program at 9 PM on Saturdays at 91.5 FM. The programs are also available on PRX (Public Radio Exchange) at www.PRX.org.
