You're in store for an evening of fitful laughter and side-splitting fun as a group of improve impresarios reveal a new show each night in Broadway's Next H!T Musical. A fishbowl awaits audience members as they enter and are encouraged to come up with some creative song titles for the evening's magic. As the show opens we find a comedic emcee (Marc T. Enberg) hosting the "PhonyAwards" show. As the cast is introduced they each pull a slip of paper from the fishbowl and with the musical mastery of pianist, Eric March, embark on a wild telling of a nominated hit song from an imaginary musical. Each song is created in the moment along with the storyline from the fictional show. Hilarity ensues as they creatively craft one number after another from the audience suggestions. This particular night the song choices included: "Kids Rule", "Kansas City Zoo Blues", "Homework on Fridays", and "Who wants a shaved head?"...or something close to that. At the end of the four nominated numbers, the audience selects the one they give the PhonyAward to and the cast does a mini-production of the entire show that is based on the originally performed number.

The cast includes the musical and comedic talents of Rob Schiffmann, Deb Rabbai, Robert Z Grant, Megan Reilly, and Mark Enberg. As original as this show is, if you want a television comparison it might seem a mix of "Whose Line Is It Anyway" meets Saturday Night Live meets the Tony Awards. What fun it is to watch this group of Artists playfully collaborate, with no script, creating one after another memorable characters with music to match. If you've had enough drama in your life and are ready for a good laugh you will want to catch this show that runs now through March 4th, at Starlight's indoor theater.Review: BROADWAY'S NEXT H!T MUSICAL at Starlight Indoor Theatre KC Image
