LIGHTNING GUIDE TO STORY STRUCTURE Live Online Masterclass with John Yorke Why do some stories grip us from beginning to end, while others struggle to hold our attention? What makes story structure work, and how can understanding it help you become a better storyteller? Join award-winning television drama executive and bestselling author John Yorke for a live, 90-minute masterclass exploring the fundamental principles of storytelling across theatre, film and television. Drawing on decades of experience developing some of Britain's most successful television dramas, John will examine the underlying architecture of stories, why familiar narrative patterns exist and how to use them to make stronger creative decisions. WHAT YOU'LL EXPLORE

The fundamental building blocks of dramatic storytelling and why they matter.

The origins of story structure and what makes certain narrative patterns so powerful.

Archetypal story shapes and how they can be used as a creative engine.

How understanding structure can help you identify and solve problems in your own scripts and projects.

How these principles apply across plays, screenplays, television drama and other forms of storytelling.

Rather than treating structure as a set of rules to follow, the session examines why stories are built the way they are, giving participants a clearer framework for approaching their own creative work. ABOUT JOHN YORKE

John continues to work as a narrative consultant and trainer with broadcasters, production companies, writers and creative professionals internationally. WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
