The Award-winning National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene [NYTF] is the longest continuously producing Yiddish theatre company in the world. The company presents plays, musicals, concerts, lectures, interactive educational workshops and community-building activities.



National Yiddish Theatre is currently seeking friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable individuals with strong communication skills to join the Ushering Team. All applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule including matinees, nights, weekends and holidays. Shifts are defined as 4-6 hours in length, and a commitment to being available for a minimum of 4-6 total shifts per week. Ability to work a flexible schedule including matinees, nights, weekends and holidays.



Responsibilities:

Meet, Greet and Welcome guests

Arrive at the Theater 2 hours before show time, ready to work

Scanning tickets and using radios to communicate with House Manager

Politely directing and escorting guests to their seats and various areas within the theatre.

Providing guests with programs and other relevant materials, including inserting materials into programs.

Visually sweep the theaters before and after performances to check for potential safety issues, lost and found items & trash. Use disinfectant materials to clean the theatre.

Be aware of and enforce appropriate house rules, while knowing when to raise questions/concerns to the House Manager’s attention.

Quietly supervise patrons during performances and efficiently manage late seating

Assist House Manager and Stage Manager with actors entering/exiting through the aisles

Knowledge and adherence to Covid compliance rules

Must be aware of, and follow, the proper procedures for assisting guests with disabilities.

Attend pre-event Usher meetings and other trainings as required by management.

Capable of working in a fast pace ever changing environment

Positive attitude with the ability to work as a team player.

Commitment to actively being part of and supporting an inclusive theater and workplace by demonstrating welcoming, inclusive behavior to all audience members and co-workers and maintaining a safe and professional working environment.



**Must show proof of vaccination to enter our facilities at the Museum of Jewish Heritage**
