JOB DESCRIPTION

The System Administrator is responsible for the research & design, implementation, maintenance, modification and upgrading critical system hardware, software, networks and related infrastructure under the direction of the Director of Information Systems.



The System Administrator must have a broad knowledge of computer hardware and software systems. They must be a self-driven proactive individual who is resourceful and thinks outside the box with limited resources, while understanding the constraints of an non-profit arts organization. Willingness to be a team player, engage all level of users, provide outstanding technical support, offer up solutions, take responsibility and ownership their scope of work. Must be willing to assist in other IT related activities when requested. Must be able to work nights and weekends when required.



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administer and maintain servers, active directory, group policies, print services, firewalls, switches, wireless

system, software deployment, upgrades, security updates and patches.

• Support LANs, Internet, and Intranet systems.

• Provide technical support for hardware and software related issues, including general help desk support as

needed.

• Audit and make recommendations for upgrades and improvements to systems and processes.

• Work with internal stake holders and outside third-party vendors.

• Maintain, monitor and proactively resolve network, system and security related issues.

• Repair and recover from hardware and/or software failures.

• Manage, maintain, and verify local system and Acronis Cloud backup profiles.

• Track projects and regularly communicate project status.

• Maintain documentation of all processes, equipment, inventory, licenses and related materials.

• Participate in research and development of the infrastructure.

• Cross train technical staff as needed.

• Assist in other IT related activities as directed.

 Cisco Unified Communications

• Perform 24x7 support as needed



QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ Years managing a Mid-Sized Windows based environment.

• Experience managing Windows Servers within an Active Directory environment.

• Experience managing and deploying VM’s within Hyper V

• Experience in Veeam Backup Software

• Deep understanding of LAN/WAN, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file permissions

• Working knowledge of SQL and database management

• Experience supporting Windows desktop systems

• Experience with Cisco Unified Communications

• Working knowledge of Mac OSX.

• Available to be on-call to work nights, weekends and holidays, if required.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience



MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

• 2 Years Windows Server Management

• 1 Year Help Desk Technical Support

• 2 Years Network Management

• 2 Years Group Policy

• 2 Years Active Directory



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift 50 lbs
