Tinc Productions, an event and theatrical production management company in New York City, is seeking applicants for Production Carpenter for an upcoming production at the Irene Diamond Stage at the Signature Center.

Tinc specializes in high-profile Broadway and Off-Broadway theatrical productions. Key Dates:

Load In: November 13 - 28

Cueing & Dry Tech: November 29 - 30, 2023

Tech: December 1 - 13

Previews: December 6 - 16, 2023

Opening: December 17, 2023

Load Out: February 27 - March 3, 2024 (TBD)



All candidates should possess technical experience in the appropriate department, a working knowledge of show running/maintenance, and prior experience on load in crews. Physical requirements of the job may include standing, bending, lifting, climbing short ladders, and using stairs. We are willing to train the right candidates from non-traditional backgrounds.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

- Manage the overall technical integrity of the Design to successfully deliver a high-quality production

- Show Preparation, including creating and maintaining the appropriate paperwork, and communicating that work to the Crew and Production Manager(s)

- Manage and oversee all technical departments, during load-ins and load-outs

- Work with department heads to develop and execute routine maintenance in order to maintain consistent operation of the show

- Communicate effectively with other departments and stage management

- Comply with all safety and security procedures related to the Production’s safety policies.

- Comply with the policies and procedures of the Production, including personnel rules and collective bargaining agreements.

Qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience in theatrical carpentry and rigging

- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, plots, blueprints and other theatrical drawings

- Experience and knowledge of safe rigging practices and standards for professional rigging

- Mastery of general hand tools, power tools, hardware, and general construction methods/practices.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to work long hours, including nights and weekends.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Efficient, effective, and a strong communicator and collaborator

- Enjoy a fast-paced environment with frequent changes

Wages and Benefits:

These are part time, non-exempt positions with specific work rules. Hours are scheduled on an as- needed basis with no set schedule or guarantees.

- W-2 Employees, all appropriate taxes withheld. Direct Deposit available.

- One time Pre-Production Prep Fee of $1500.00

- Shop Prep Day Rate: $400.00 per Day

- Straight Time: $38.00 per hour for up to 40 hours per week

- Overtime: $57.00 per hour for any and all hours worked over 10 in a day or 40 in one week

- Employees are eligible to participate in Tinc’s medical, dental, vision and other insurance programs

The normal pay week is Monday – Sunday



Call Length:

- Theatrical calls are booked at a minimum of 5 hours, in whole hour increments.
