Role:

The Music and Materials Associate will support the Manager of Music and Materials. The position demands strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, have creative vision, attention to detail, and a dedication to the company's core values of service to our authors. The Music and Materials Associate will have a proactive and enthusiastic demeanor while assisting in various facets of the department which include, but are not limited to, engraving, proofreading, transposing music, formatting scripts and music, as well as overseeing administrative tasks for the department. The person in this role must be fluent in Finale and Sibelius.



Responsibilities

• Converting/Engraving native music materials into Broadway Licensing format

• Converting scripts into Broadway Licensing format

• Assist in the editing, proofreading, creation, and distribution of all music materials

• Communicating with development team and authors regarding master music materials

• Overseeing administrative duties of the Music Department (ie printing, photocopying, collating, maintaining supply stock, etc)

• Assist with creation, storage, and management of digital assets as necessary

• Additional responsibilities and projects as assigned



Qualifications

• Fluency with both Finale and Sibelius

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Garage Band (Logic Pro X a +)

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to be extremely flexible with shifting deadlines

• Knowledge of orchestral instruments (ranges, transpositions, etc..)

• Knowledge of musical theatre

• Strong communication skills, both oral and written

• Ability to initiate projects and see them through to completion

• Must be able to work at a fast pace while managing multiple tasks and maintaining a professional attitude

• Undergraduate degree in Music required
