Lighting Designer for The Wedding Singer

La Comedia Dinner Theatre in Springboro, OH is seeking a Lighting Designer for the upcoming production of The Wedding Singer with the possibility of more shows in the future. Independent Contractor position. Pay: $2200

Responsibilities include:

• Attend Production Meeting the week of April 20 (date TBD)

• Attend various rehearsals including first rehearsal on April 27 and designer runs on May 9

• Attend all tech rehearsals May 10-13 as well as opening performances on May 14

• Create lighting plot, instrument schedule, and channel hookup and provide to Master Electrician and Production Manager prior to Hang on May 10

• Oversee hang and focus, ensuring fixtures are properly addressed and positioned

• Program cues on ETC Ion before/during tech rehearsals while keeping the process moving and on schedule

• Provide cues to the Stage Manager to run during dress rehearsals and performances

• Work collaboratively with PM, SM, audio, and set teams to ensure smooth tech rehearsals and show runs

• Provide accurate paperwork to SM at end of tech process including magic sheets, instrument schedule, and channel list Applicants should:

• Have experience with lighting design and programming on a short time-table

• Be willing and able to pre-program cues based on rehearsal blocking

• Be comfortable with heights and the driving of a scissor lift

• Familiarity with the Ion light board and moving light programming

• Able to design based on rep plot and instrument inventory
