Kitchen Theatre Company’s (KTC) seeks applicants for its Resident Fellowship Program. This program is committed to training future generations of theater professionals. At the Kitchen, the fellows play a vital role in the production and administration process and are mentored by members of the staff. KTC fellows have gone on to MFA programs and to professional theater careers throughout the United States. Fellows are in residence for an entire season (August-June). Housing and a weekly stipend is provided, as are opportunities for hourly work in Front of House positions.

Fellows are expected to commit to work August 8, 2022 - June 30, 2023 with a regular 40-hour schedule Monday-Friday 10am-6pm. Occasional work on nights and weekends as necessary will be required. The ideal candidate pays close attention to detail, has strong organizational skills, has excellent written and verbal communication, and is a self-motivated worker.



Fellows are provided private rooms in shared company housing for the duration of the fellowship term, as well as a $350/wk stipend and the opportunity to sign up for paid hourly Front of House shifts during performance runs.



Fellows are offered bi-weekly “Lunch n’ Learn” meetings with the Producing Artistic Director and/or Managing Director (both as available) as a way to ask any questions and have meaningful conversations about our industry in a relaxed environment outside of the office.



Fellowships are available in the following areas:



Development - Work directly with the Managing Director and Board of Directors Development Committee to support our annual fundraising efforts through individual/corporate donors, grant prospecting and application, special events, and ongoing appeal/campaign efforts. This position works alongside the Managing Director and Marketing teams to facilitate various aspects of Development, from grant research and drafting to prospecting new donors in Tompkins County and Central New York. The ideal candidate pays close attention to detail, has strong organizational skills, has excellent written and verbal communication, and is a self-motivated worker who enjoys research, spreadsheets, and data management. A sense of humor is required, and a love of dogs encouraged.



Stage & Production Management - Work directly with the Resident Stage Manager as assistant stage manager and/or production assistant with guest and resident creative teams. Involvement includes the full production process from pre-production through strike, as well as costume and prop organization and maintenance as needed. This position also works alongside the Artistic Director, who serves as Production manager, to facilitate various aspects of production including light hangs, budgeting, calendar work, rentals, and more. There is also an opportunity to stage manage Kitchen Sink productions. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, as well as experience in props and/or costumes required. Additionally, a sense of humor is required, and a love of dogs encouraged. Earn Equity Membership Candidacy (EMC) points.

As “Central New York’s Off-Broadway Theater,” the Kitchen has a reputation for excellence in production quality as well as audience experience.
