Graphic Design and Marketing Associate - George Street Playhouse

George Street Playhouse (GSP), a professional, producing theatre company 40 minutes from Manhattan, seeks a Graphic Design and Marketing Associate to join our team for our 22/23 season at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. The Graphic Design and Marketing Associate is a member of the GSP Marketing Department and reports to the Director of Digital Strategy and Communications. This highly collaborative individual will have an understanding of social media and email marketing best practices. Excellent writing/communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.



Essential Job Duties:

- Provide critical support to the Director of Digital Strategy and Communications, marketing department staff, and department contractors as needed

- Design graphics for the organization’s website, social media pages, and promotional materials and submit them for approval

- Interact with cast members and creative team to collect bios and assist in playbill proofing

- Execute promotions on social media and email marketing channels as part of an overall marketing strategy

- Participate in content creation including copywriting, campaign planning, social media, promotional offers, and video/photoshoots

- Assist in video editing as needed

- Monitoring the communications calendar to ensure the successful rollout of marketing campaigns

- Supporting ticketing and customer service activity as needed

- Collaborate on ongoing initiatives for audience cultivation and community engagement

- Provide administrative support for the marketing department



Requirements:

- Basic graphic design skills

- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud suite and Adobe InDesign

- Skilled in a variety of social media platforms and functions of each

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Excellent time management skills

- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills

- Ability to work under pressure

- Ability to set priorities, work collaboratively, and take initiative within the marketing department goals



Preferred Qualifications:

- High school diploma or current student in related degree

- Knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro is a plus



Working Conditions:

- The anticipated start date for this position is November 14, 2022.

- The position is full-time and is New Jersey-based

- In addition to regular office hours (Monday thru Friday 10 am to 6 pm), weekend and evening hours are required

- Unless expressly excused, this position is expected to attend the following:

- all company “Meet and Greet” events, Opening Night pre- and post-show activities

- all major events produced by the company including but not limited to the Annual Gala Benefit, one-night only events and special events related to the activities of the Education Department



COVID-19 vaccination, including all eligible boosters, is a condition of employment. COVID policies are updated regularly to reflect the current local and national health recommendations.

George Street Playhouse currently requires all employees to wear respirator style masks (N95, KN95, KF94). Members of the Production Group will also test per the current COVID policy at the company's expense.



The Opportunity:

This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position with an annual salary range of $42,000-$45,000, commensurate with experience. George Street Playhouse offers a benefits package that includes health and dental insurance with annual allowance for out of pocket medical expenses, paid holidays, vacation time, sick leave, paid parking near the theater and complimentary tickets to George Street Playhouse productions.
