Children’s Theatre Company (CTC) is seeking qualified candidates for a choreographer position for Go, Dog. Go! • Ve Perro ¡Ve! in our ’25-’26 season. The first rehearsal is on December 16, 2025 with a show opening on January 23, 2026. This is a temporary contract (non-employee) position on the artistic team for the production.



Much of the script for this show is non-verbal and relies on physical storytelling set to music. This position requires someone who has demonstrated knowledge and skill in choreographing for the stage, and a background in physical theatre, clowning and movement-based performance.

POSITION SUMMARY



The Choreographer for Go, Dog. Go! • Ve Perro ¡Ve! will develop, in consultation with the director, the movement and choreography that will advance the story of the piece. The production will emphasize non-verbal, music-driven physical storytelling. This is a contract position suited for an artist with a background in physical theatre, clowning, and movement-based performance.





ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



Collaborate with the director and creative team to develop choreographic language that advances story through physical expression



Lead physical rehearsals with cast members, including those with varied levels of movement experience



Integrate principles of clowning and mime to enhance character development and narrative clarity



Attend and contribute to all necessary rehearsals, production meetings, and technical runs



Provide notation or documentation of choreography for future reference or remounts





POSITION QUALIFICATIONS



Proven experience choreographing for physical theatre, clowning, or similar forms



Ability to craft engaging, narrative-driven movement sequences



Strong communication and collaborative skills, especially in multidisciplinary teams



Familiarity with Latino/a/x cultures or experience working on bilingual (Spanish-English) productions is strongly preferred, as the production features Latinx artists and bilingual storytelling



Cultural competency and a collaborative spirit when engaging with artists from diverse backgrounds



Experience working in theatre for young audiences or education-focused performance is a plus



Availability for the entire rehearsal period





COMPENSATION



The pay for this contract temporary positions is a minimum of $11,819 for the production.
