Judy Collins' career has spanned more than 50 years.  At 13, Judy Collins made her public debut performing Mozart's Concerto for Two Pianos, but it was the music of such artists as Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, as well as the traditional songs of the folk revival, that sparked Judy's love of lyrics.  She soon moved away from the classical piano and began her lifelong love for the guitar.  Judy has continued her impressive musical career with an extensive catalog from every decade throughout the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and up to the present.

Judy Collins in Concert plays at the Wilson Center for the Arts on Florida State College at Jacksonville's South Campus (11901 Beach Blvd.) on Thursday, March 29th for one performance only!

Amy Speace will open for Judy Collins during her performance in Jacksonville.  In addition to being signed by Judy Collins - who called Speace "one of the best young songwriters" - to Wildflower Records; she was awarded an NPR "Song of the Day"; and she toured with Collins, Nanci Griffith and Shawn Colvin.  The city's WFUV-FM named her song "Weight of the World" the #4 Folk Song of the Decade in its 2010 year-end Top 10 list.  "Amy Speace is a rising star," opined USA Today.  NPR said, "Her velvety, achy voice recalls an early Lucinda Williams.  Sounding grounded but wounded, Speace exudes the vulnerability of someone who's loved and lost."

Tickets for Judy Collins in Concert start at $51.00. For tickets, visit www.artistseriesjax.org or call The Artist Series Box Office at 904-632-3373.
