Alhambra Theatre Adds Wednesday Matinees of WHITE CHRISTMAS, 11/26-12/24

Continuing what has become a long-standing Jacksonville tradition, The Alhambra Theater & Dining is preparing for its annual Christmas show, this year White Christmas. After 19 straight years of showing Christmas Carole, the Alhambra five years ago decided on an every-other-year pattern alternating with a different Christmas Show. Two seasons ago White Christmas was such a big hit, the Alhambra decided to run it again in 2014. White Christmas opens November 26 and runs through December 24.

For each of the last five years, since the new ownership group took over, the Christmas show has completely sold out. In fact, each year the Alhambra has had a waitlist. This year, to accommodate the huge demand and allow more people to enjoy the Alhambra's holiday tradition, they have added four Wednesday matinee performances. Those show dates are December 3, December 10, December 17 and December 24.

Said Managing Partner Craig Smith, "Christmas at the Alhambra has been such a wonderful tradition for our city and it breaks my heart having to turn people away." He continued, "We are 90% sold out by September, so for those folks who don't think 'holiday" until November, it's almost too late. So now we're giving at least another 1600 people a chance to enjoy our festivities."

White Christmas will run at the Alhambra November 26 through December 24, 2014. Show time is 8:00 PM for evening shows. Doors open at 5:45 PM and dinner will be served until 7:30 PM. Matinees on Wednesday and Saturday are at 1:15 PM. Doors open at 11:00 AM and brunch starts at 11:15 AM. Sunday matinee is at 2:00. Doors open at noon and the meal starts at 12:15 PM.
