Southern playwright and novelist Mark Dunn created this hilarious and poignant re-telling of the "My Fair Lady" story set right here in the Mississippi Delta! We are delighted to finally have found a slot in our schedule for this smart and funny re-creation of the classic George Bernard Shaw plot. The story of Eliza Doolittle, tweaked lovingly by Dunn, features a poorly spoken gutter-snipe daughter of a Mississippi Delta pig farmer, who wants to better herself, but can't get a job as a waitress at a local restaurant because of her low-class accent. The Delta version of Henry Higgins is an aristocratic professor at Delta State....well, you get the idea. Mark Dunn will be our guest for this Mississippi premier, enthusiastically helping us even further 'localize' the script. You won't want to miss this, one...you might actually be mentioned in it…or perhaps at least "The Street Where You Live!
