Zohara Alfasia was the court singer of the king of Morocco, Muhammad V. In her songs Alfasia combined unique musical styles-classical Arab music, Andalusian music, and Jewish piyuttim, while weaving in classical western motifs as well. She immigrated to Israel in the 1960s and lived in Ashkelon, where she died almost anonymously since the cultural establishment in Israel did not recognize her art. The play focuses on the important turning points in her life and unfolds for the viewer her complex and stubborn personality, her great charisma, and her wonderful voice and works.
