TICK, TICK… BOOM! Will Make Israeli Premiere
The benefit performance at Tel Aviv's Zucker Hall will also feature Inbal Zoashnin as Susan.
Jonathan Larson's Tick, Tick... BOOM! will receive its Israeli premiere on October 27, 2026 at Heichal HaTarbut's Zucker Hall in Tel Aviv. Penned by Jonathan Larson, the creator of RENT, the musical was days away from its opening night in 2023, but was then canceled following the October 7 attacks.
It now returns as a one-night benefit performance for the Nova Tribe Community Association, which provides support to the bereaved families of the Nova music festival massacre.
Roi Dolev, who was previously set to play Jon, returns to the role, alongside Inbal Zoashnin who is returning as Susan. They are again joined by the creative team behind the Israeli production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Full casting will be announced soon.
"It's not often that you get to return to a role you never played," says the 29-year-old Dolev, "and I'm very grateful for the chance to finally bring this show home, and to do it in support of the amazing Nova Tribe."
Tick, Tick... BOOM! tells the semi-autobiographical story of Jon, a promising young artist on the cusp of his thirtieth birthday, living in a cramped apartment at the edge of Soho in the 90s. Jon grapples with the pressures of life, love, and a career in the arts, all while the ticking of life's clock grows ever louder in his ears.
The Nova Tribe Community Association is a non-profit organization that supports the long-term recovery from trauma for the 3,500 survivors and 2,500 members of the bereaved families of the Nova music festival massacre. They provide a community-based support system that fosters post-traumatic growth, reduces isolation, enhances resilience, strengthens mental health, and mitigates the risks of trauma, in addition to honoring the memory of the lost loved ones.
