Bumper 2 Bumper will return to Meeting House Square Saturday, May 8 to celebrate the opening night of Dublin Dance Festival.  The headphone disco will start at 9 pm with gates opening at 8.30 pm. Tickets for Bumper 2 Bumper are free but must be picked up in advance from Dublin Dance Festival Box Office at The Culture Box, 12 East Essex Street (opposite Meeting House Square), Temple Bar from May 1st. The headphone disco is presented by Dublin Dance Festival in association with Temple Bar Cultural Trust and Phantom 105.2 with the station's Jim Carroll and Michelle Doherty on the decks spinning all the best tracks, from the latest indie floor fillers to classic tunes from the 80s and 90s. 

Tickets are limited to 4 per person. Please note that this event is for OVER 18s ONLY. ID must be presented at the time of ticket collection and at the event. Latecomers cannot be guaranteed entry (so do come early). As this event is outdoors, audiences are advised to dress appropriately.

No Grants Gallery re-opens on Thursday, May 6 with Dreams that Speak exhibition.  Temple Bar Cultural Trust's No Grants Gallery presents Dreams that Speak a group exhibition created by older people as part of Bealtaine Festival 2010. This exhibition features 10 artists of various disciplines including painting, textiles, mixed media and digital art.

 

Europe Day Celebrations, Sunday 9th May - free events for all the family. Europe Day 2010 will see a wide variety of free cultural activities across Dublin. With choices ranging from Irish short films and European painters to Sephardic music and a taste of European cakes there should be something for everyone!

RTÉ Dance on the Box - film screenings on Meeting House Square 21st-22nd May
Four short films have been commissioned, by the choreographer/director teams of David Bolger & Conor Horgan, Cindy Cummings & Oonagh Kearney, Fearghus Ó Conchúir & Dearbhla Walsh and John Scott & Steve Woods.

If you feel like doing something a little bit different, why not pop into The Gutter Book Shop on Cow's Lane in the Old City area of Temple Bar and take part in their new and exciting literary events programme.

Designer Mart at Cow's Lane workshops kick-off again this June with a "Knit it Yourself" session. Hazel Donnelly will start you off with basic knit and stitch techniques.

Dublin City Volunteer Week (1 - 7 June 2010) is an annual week of events and festivies that celebrate, recognise and showcase the diverse and exciting ways in which people in Dublin engage with their communities through voluntary action.
