Jessie Williams Among Stars Set to Participate in Cinemagic Int'l Film & TV Festival, May 11 - 18th

Young people from Dublin will have a special chance to learn insider TV and film tips this May when presenters, actors, and many well known behind the scenes names from the world of TV and film arrive at Dublin's Burlington Hotel to present masterclasses and workshops as part of the internationally acclaimed Coca-Cola Cinemagic International Film & Television Festival for Young People. 

The Festival which kicks off on the 11th May runs until 18th and has a wealth of cinema magic in store and this year will feature masterclasses and workshops with hosts that range from Corrie to MTV, from Xposé to The Tudors, from The Holiday Show to Avatar, Tracy Beaker Returns and lots more.

These masterclasses and workshops are one of the most popular aspects of Cinemagic. Each year young people in small groups have the opportunity to meet with and quiz some of the most established people in the film and TV industry today. There are still a few days left before applications close and young people and schools can chose which class they would like to apply for. This year those delivering masterclasses will be SurAnne Jones, Karen Koster, Laura Whitmore, Michael Hirst, Michelle Fairley, Greg Maguire, Julie Harkin, Rachel Kavanagh, Jon Slattery & Ciara Whelan and Ian Haydn Smith.

The masterclasses will be held in The Burlington Hotel, the Official Hotel Partner and Host of the Cinemagic Masterclasses. The Burlington is also offering a special rate of €99BB per room to those attending the Festival.

This year those delivering masterclasses, for 16-25 year olds, will include:

Coronation street favourite SurAnne Jones (Karen) who will deliver a masterclass in acting;

Television presenting workshop with TV3 presenter Karen Koster;

Presenting with MTV's Laura Whitmore;

Screenwriting with the acclaimed writer of Elizabeth and The Tudors Michael Hirst;

Acting with Michelle Fairley;

Technical direction of animation with Greg Maguire (Avatar's creature technical director);

Casting with Julie Harkin;

Acting with Rachel Kavanagh;

Television presenting with The Holiday Show's Jon Slattery and Ciara Whelan;

Film Journalism with Ian Haydn Smith.
