Rising Sun Performance Company Reveals 2025 Resident Ensemble Company

Founding Artistic Director Akia Squitieri announced that Rising Sun Performance Company recently welcomed a new cohort of artists into their 2025 Resident Ensemble. Ensemble members were selected from a pool of over 100 applicants through a rigorous, collaborative and inclusive audition process. The 2025 Resident Ensemble features talent from around the world including Germany, Japan, Israel, Brazil, Italy and across the United States.

The new ensemble members will be featuring in Rising Sun Performance Company's Summer Reading Series May 4th through June 23rd 2025, which will feature new plays by Eva MeiLing Pollitt, Gina Femia , Susan Goodell, Judd Lear Silverrman, Kati Frazier, Orlando Rodriguez and Holly Hepp-Galván, as well as their current production of F***ed Up Fairytales running in the NYC Fringe Festival, with other productions to be announced.

Ms. Squitieri states "the talent that showed up to these auditions was outstanding, and we are exceptionally lucky to have such a talented group of new company members".

Rising Sun Performance Company (RSPC) is the full time artistic home for a wide range of theatre artists, including actors, writers, directors, designers,  and technicians. Each ensemble member brings their own unique training, talents and aesthetic to the group. In addition to our permanent ensemble, they have a rotating roster of local, national and international guest artists, including who work with the company on a show-to-show basis. Current Ensemble member Jennifer Atkinson states "It is so exciting to welcome new members to our ensemble. Rising Sun is truly a community-based ensemble, where everyone is welcome and championed. They are joining such a wonderful team of artists and dear friends, and I cannot wait to create theatre with them!"
