On Monday, April 25th, 2022, in New York City, TheaterWorks USA had their spring benefit at 'The Current' located at Chelsea Piers. The special honorees at the event included Bonnie Comley, Stewart Lane, Tom Costanzo, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and Schele Williams.
The event also featured performances from Broadway actors, including Miguel Cervantes, Jose Llana, and Kate Wetherhead, and performed songs celebrating the honorees.
The five honorees were honored because of their excellence in spreading access to the theatre to young people and making sure their stories are seen, one of the goals for TheaterWorks USA at large.
TheaterWorks works to create to make accessible, sophisticated, and educational shows for people of all ages and is the foremost professional theatre for young people and families.
