New York Center for Immersive Theater Launched by Bated Breath
Bated Breath will continue its own in-house ensemble work devising new immersive work to be presented at venues internationally.
Bated Breath has launched The New York Center for Immersive Theater (NYCIT). The center has been described as a real and metaphorical space where the future of theatrical audience engagement can be envisioned, composed, pushed, revised, and shared with audiences.
"We will stretch what is possible for immersive theater through experimentation, archival exploration and analysis, training, mentorship, multidisciplinary collaboration, and
performance," reads a statement on the website. "We believe that theater as an art form needs to continue to evolve in order to remain current, meaningful, and impactful."
Some programming has already been announced. In addition to this programming, Bated Breath will continue its own in-house ensemble work devising new immersive work to be presented at venues internationally.
Lieberman is interested in hearing from other theater makers who might want to use the space to experiment with the form and devise new work. Lieberman is also available for one-on-one and small group coaching.
