Previews: FESTIVAL MUSIKAL INDONESIA 2025 Goes to Taman Ismail Marzuki

EKI Foundation and Indonesia Kaya held a press conference on 22 October 2025 on the upcoming Festival Musikal Indonesia (FMI). This annual celebration of Indonesian musicals will be held on 14 to 16 November at Taman Ismail Marzuki for the first time.

Earlier in the year, an open call was held for theatre groups interested in putting on their performance at FMI. A total of 80 communities submitted their proposal, and 32 were selected to pitch their show before a team of curators: Mariska (with a focus on dance), Gabriel Harvianto (vocals), Oni Krisnerwinto (music), Rangga Riantiarno (theatre), and Iskandar Loedin (artistic).

At the end, 12 communities from Jakarta, Bali, Solo, and Surabaya were selected to perform at FMI. The shows will be spread over 3 days and taking place at three different theatres at the Taman Ismail Marzuki complex: Teater Besar, Teater Kecil, and Teater Wahyu Sihombing.
