A new half-hour musical tribute will be added to follow each performance of LINCOLN: Upon the Altar of Freedom.

Dubbed A Concert in the Park: A Celebration of Lincoln?s Life and Times through Music will include a live musical display of numbers written by Stephen Foster, Civil War songs, hymns, and spirituals that were composed during President Lincoln?s life.

"This will help to establish the importance of popular and folk-rooted traditions in the musical heritage during Lincoln's life and times," says R. Scott Lank, artistic director for LINCOLN and A Concert in the Park.

The musical tribute performers cast will include actors from the production of LINCOLN.

The musical tribute is free to the evening's ticket holders.

LINCOLN will take the stage for its second season at Lincoln AmphiTheatre On June 18, 2010, and will run nightly with the exception of Mondays until August 7. The non-profit Lincoln Amphitheatre is supported in part by individual and corporate donations. The "Lincoln's Legacy Lives" fundraising campaign is underway to help fund the second season?s production of LINCOLN, a two-act play with music by playwright Ken Jones.
