IndyArts Announces Gallery 924 Opening with the following exhibits:

Best of Indiana Glass
2011 Indiana Glass Artists Exhibition
Opening IDADA First Friday | October 7, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Gallery 924 is proud to host the annual Indiana Glass Artists Alliance juried exhibition to recognize Indiana's best glass artists. The 2011 jurors are Marta Hewett of Cincinnati and Che Rhodes of the University of Louisville. The mission of the exhibition is to enhance the development and recognition of Indiana's glass artists and to increase awareness of glass as a fine art medium. The show includes a diverse selection of glass pieces including traditional vessels and contemporary sculpture.

Experience the power and beauty of one of artistic director David Hochoy's masterpieces. See Water, Earth, Air and Fire brought to life through dance. Pianist Spencer Myer will play Chopin selections for DK's Water section. Myer is the 2006 Classical Fellow of the American Pianist Association.

Do You Hear the People Sing?

Indianapolis Symphonic Choir & Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra

In these world premiere performances, the Symphonic Choir joins the ISO and Maestro Jack Everly--plus a cast of Broadway performers--to present the greatest hits from Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schoenberg, the creators of shows such as Les Miserables and Miss Saigon.

From Dark Pages is a delightful piece of macabre Victorian fantasy. For nearly 20 years, the always-new, ever-changing progressive play has led audience members upstairs, downstairs, and all around the Morris-Butler House in search of the infamous Jack the Ripper. Along the way, visitors meet well-known historical characters from both life and literature.

The 2011-2012 IVCI Laureate Series opens when 2006 IVCI Gold Medalist Augustin Hadelich joins the Indiana University String Academy Chamber Orchestra and pianist Chih-Yi Chen. The IVCI Laureate Series is a concert series that features prizewinners from the past competitions and guest artists in recital and in concert with area ensembles, bringing the excitement of the competition back to Indiana annually.

Women of a Certain Age

Women of a Certain Age will be presenting a sequel to the successful October 2010 exhibition called 'Voices: Women of a Certain Age.' The theme of this year's exhibition is about our comfort or discomfort in the skin we're in. You are invited to join in the conversation about how women of a certain age feel about age and beauty--senior women in current society--and how mature women artists see themselves in the world of women and men.
