DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS Plays Fort Wayne Civic Theatre, Now thru 8/10
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels will run at Fort Wayne Civic Theatre, directed by Craig Humphrey with music director Eunice Wadewitz and choreographers Leslie Beauchamp and Gary Lanier. The musical features book by Jeffery Lane and music & lyrics By David Yazbek. Based on the film "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels", written by Dale Launer, Stanley Shapiro and Paul Henning, the production will be performed at the Arts United Center in downtown Fort Wayne.
Based on the popular 1988 film, this musical centers on two con men living on the French Riviera. Lawrence Jameson makes his lavish living by talking rich ladies out of their money. Freddy Benson more humbly swindles women by waking their compassion with fabricated stories. The two attempt to work together only to find that this small French town isn't big enough for the two of them. They agree that the first one to extract $50,000 from a young female heiress wins and the other must leave town. A hilarious battle of cons ensues that will keep audiences laughing, humming and guessing to the end!
