Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre's production of ANNIE broke the record for most successful season opener in Civic's history. The fan favorite surpassed all opening shows' box office records to take the top spot.

Chairman of the Board of Directors for Civic, Donald E Knebel said, "Thanks to everyone who saw ANNIE and spread the word about it throughout our community. Our cast and crew thrive on full houses and you rewarded them immensely. We look forward to seeing everyone again at our holiday musical, JOSEPH & THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT!"

ANNIE was a success in the making before it ever hit the stage. With National Tour sets that were masterfully assembled and fashioned by Civic's professional technical staff, costumes made by Civic's resident costume designer and volunteers, precision and impeccable timing from the live orchestra, and incomparable direction and choreography from Anne Nicole Beck, audiences were treated to a stunning display of artistry.

Civic's Executive Artistic Director, Michael J. Lasley said, "Credit for the success of Annie lies with the artistic team that brought it to life, the cast who gave unselfishly of themselves for weeks of rehearsal and performance as well as the crew, orchestra and Civic staff who supported them all. You can't always guess what title will capture the attention of the public but you must be prepared to make the most of it when it happens. That preparation and professionalism is what our success is built on."

Coming this holiday season to Civic's stage is JOSEPH & AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. It is the ninth installment at Civic since 2000. One of the most enduring shows of all time, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT is a reimagining of the Biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers and the coat of many colors. Told entirely through song with the help of a narrator, the musical follows preferred son Joseph throughout his trials and triumph. Single and group tickets are available for this holiday spectacular. Visit www.civictheatre.org for more information and to reserve tickets.
