The Buck Creek Players are seeking volunteers to help plant trees through a generous grant from Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. Starting at 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 4th, Buck Creek Players will host a tree planting to plant 20 to 30 trees at the Buck Creek Playhouse at 11150 Southeastern Avenue. Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. will be providing trees and needed supplies, and Buck Creek Players will provide refreshments and lunch for all tree planting volunteers. If interested in volunteering, please contact Aaron Bailey, BCP President at (317) 283-5501 or by e-mailing buckcreekplayers@yahoo.com.
This is the second tree planting Buck Creek Players and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful will have completed at the Playhouse. In May 2007, Buck Creek Players hosted a tree planting day to plant trees on the south and east side of the Playhouse parking lot. With the help of volunteers, thirty trees consisting of maple, oak, and gum were planted, watered, and mulched. Volunteers also helped to weed and mulch the planting beds around the building. This year's tree planting will focus on the northwest corner of the Playhouse property near its entrance off Southeastern Avenue. Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. will unveil the exact trees and their location the morning of the planting. Volunteers are needed starting at 9:00 AM to help dig holes, plant, water, and mulch the trees. Once all the trees have been planted, volunteers will be able to enjoy a complimentary lunch as thanks for their assistance. For more information on Buck Creek Players or directions to the playhouse, please visit the theater's website at www.buckcreekplayers.com.
