Amy Touchette Will Hold Reception For 'The Young Series'
![]()
Throughout her career, Brooklyn-based photographic artist Amy Touchette has explored connections between humanity. A documentarian and a street photographer, she creates photographs of people within their social groups and communities. Utilizing the power of photography in "The Young Series," Touchette discovers what teen culture looks like in the three disparate island nations of Manhattan, Hawaii and Japan. "Although the world is globalized now, significant remnants of each island culture still exist," said Touchette. "I thought that because these three locations had strong and distinct personalities, it would create a more heightened and interesting visual experience."
