Black White &...Life in Between is an interactive play that deals with workplace Diversity and Inclusion. Misa has traveled to Gurgaon, far from her hometown Hyderabad and is amused at the kind of experience she and some others have at the office.
Through a series of letters written to her father Iqbal Miyan, Misa narrates her experiences and how these experiences are so much in contrast to Iqbal Miyan’s parenting that Misa has grown up with. Be it the manager who discriminates the new mother, the interviewers, who stereotype candidates based on their unconscious bias about Gujaratis, North Indians, South Indians or any person for that matter, Misa discovers herself more with each experience. She discovers realities of the corporate world in the form of treatment people with disabilities face, how a transgender faces the brunt of social prejudice against the LGBT community, and how the Punjabi boy from Amritsar has to face the brunt of jokes. Every discovery is new learning that she narrates to her father. Black, White & Life In Between is an entertaining & unique way to experience Diversity & Inclusion concepts and provides invaluable insights to take back to the workplace.
