Review: AFTER 55 HOUSEFUL SHOWS Dekh Behen Comes To Gurugram There is something about wedding stories that regales Indian audiences. And especially if the story has an added element of drama, pathos and emotions intertwined with complexities it does speak to the masses in a familiar tone.

No wonder then that Akvarious Productions play, Dekh Behen has completed 55 Houseful shows and is now heading towards the Delhi NCR region. Dekh Behen, the play will have two back-to-back showings in Gurugram, this coming weekend. Akarsh Khurana of Akvarious Productions is particularly excited about his play because the all women star cast of the play has been getting the attention it deserves. The popular and entertaining play has been garnering rave reviews and has been a sell out at theaters this season. The story told through an all-women cast has had the maximum impact on the audiences as it relatable, funny and emotional all at the same time.

This will be the first time that the play will be staged in Gurugram. Promoted as a bittersweet comedy the play has performed over 55 houseful shows across 5 cities -- Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Nagpur and Baroda.

The play follows the story of a big fat Delhi wedding. Merely hours before they need to put up their rehearsed item number, five bridesmaids catch up, gossip, eat, drink, and bitch about their identical outfits. But that's not the only thing they have in common. They all dislike the bride. Akvarious Productions present a fully female cast and crew in a bittersweet comedy about daughters, girlfriends, mothers, sisters, wives, and getting through one bloody shaadi ka function. Inspired from the title and premise of Alan Ball's Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, Dekh Behen is a funny, irreverent, and touching celebration of the women's spirit.

The production stars popular theatre artistes -- Dilshad Edibam Khurana, Lisha Bajaj, Prerna Chawla, Tahira Nath Krishnan, Shikha Talsania and Zayn Khan.

Saturday July 27 at Epicentre Gurugram Haryana. Time 5.00pm
