BWW Previews: ICONIC PRITHVI THEATRE CELEBRATES 40 YEARS at With Prithvi Festival

Over the years, Prithvi Theatre has become synonymous with the theatre scene in India. The institution has lent its stage to some of the most iconic performances, brilliant plays, thought-provoking ideas and have formed a firm footing in the cultural landscape of India.

As the iconic theatre now celebrates 40 years of it's existence, the occasion would be marked with Prithvi Theatre Festival, that will see some of the most revered plays of all times.

The festival will be seeing performances in three different theaters this year -- Prithvi Theatre, Royal Opera House and G5A.

As theatre goers it is natural to look forward to the line-up for the festival and from the looks of the calendar the shows do not seem to disappoint. True to its legacy, the theatre will commence the festival with Prithviraj Kapoor's play Deewar. It will be premiering on his birthday, where it was originally shown first back in 1945.

As a fitting tribute, the show will be held at Royal Opera House, the place where it was first staged. So, if you are sucker for nostalgia, it can be an event to book yourself for.

The other evening that looks tempting enough for discerning theatre goers is the screening of none other than Naseeruddin Shah's play, 'The Truth,' that will be staged on November 5.

So, as festivities are already in air looks like the time is just befitting to celebrate the best of theatre too. Go ahead book yourself a show or two.
