Clear Creek Community Theatre's production of the Tony Award-winning "Avenue Q" opens this Thursday night for one weekend only at UHCL's Bayou Theater.
"Avenue Q" is a hilarious and irreverent musical that tells the story of a recent college graduate named Princeton and a group of young adults who move to a run-down apartment on Avenue Q in New York City. The catch? All of the characters are puppets, and the show tackles adult themes and issues like relationships, finding a purpose in life, and racism.
As he tries to find his purpose in life, Princeton meets a colorful cast of characters, including Kate Monster, a kindergarten teaching assistant; Rod, a Republican investment banker with a secret; and Trekkie Monster, a reclusive monster who spends all his time online. This production promises to be a fantastic one, with a talented cast and crew who have worked tirelessly to bring this musical to life. The show is known for its catchy tunes, witty humor, and heartfelt moments, making it a favorite among theater-goers looking for a unique and entertaining experience.
We encourage you to come and experience "Avenue Q" while supporting your local community theatre. Your attendance will not only be a fun time out, but it will also help us continue to produce high-quality productions in the future.
BUT, please note that "Avenue Q" is rated R for language and mature themes and is not suitable for children.
Avenue Q is on stage at UHCL’s Bayou Theater May 11 – May 14th only with 8:00PM performances Thursday, Friday and Saturday plus matinees on Saturday and Sunday matinee 2:00PM.
