Tickets to National Tour of CHICAGO's Run at Hobby Center on Sale 9/15

By:

CHICAGO is BACK IN HOUSTON and it's PURE ENTERTAINMENT!

CHICAGO, which opened to rave reviews on November 14th, 1996, now has the distinction of being the longest running American musical in Broadway history, and... shows no sign of ever slowing down!

CHICAGO will play the Hobby Center for a limited engagement from November 12 - 17. Tickets go on sale to the public Sunday, September 15.

Tickets start at $30 and can be purchased by calling (800) 982-ARTS or visiting www.BroadwayAtTheHobbyCenter.com orwww.TheHobbyCenter.org. For groups of 10 or more, please call 888-451-5986 or e-mail houston.groups@broadwayacrossamerica.com.

Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, CHICAGO is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who maliciously murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today's tabloids.

Direct from Broadway, Paige Davis will be playing the role of Roxie Hart. On television, Paige starred as the host of "Trading Spaces" (TLC) and "Home and Family" (Hallmark), and is a 2013 Emmy Award Nominee for "Home Made Simple" (OWN). She is the author of Paige by Paige, a New York Times bestseller. Paige is no stranger to the road as she has toured as Charity in SWEET CHARITY, Babette in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, Roxie in CHICAGO, THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES. Regional productions included Agnes in I DO! I DO! (Old Globe), Maria in THE SOUND OF MUSIC (Pittsburgh CLO), Val in A CHORUS LINE (Austin Musical Theatre), April in COMPANY (Missouri Rep). Visit Paige online at www.PaigeDavis.com.

With a legendary book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, CHICAGO is the winner of six 1997 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Cast Recording.

CHICAGO is produced by Barry and Fran Weissler.

The national tour is directed by David Hyslop and choreographed by David Bushman. Walter Bobbie is the director of the original New York Production and Ann Reinking the original choreographer in the style of Bob Fosse. CHICAGO features set design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Ken Billington and sound design by Scott Lehrer. The production also features orchestrations by Jack Gaughan, supervising music direction by Rob Fisher.

CHICAGO is a production not to be missed. And all the reviewers agree. Time Magazine calls it "A Triumph," Newsweek raves "Smashing" and Entertainment Weekly sums it up by calling CHICAGO "Broadway's Most Electrifying Show."
