The Landing Theatre Company's Home Tours Presents OVERRIDE By Elizabeth A.M. Keel

Landing Local Home Tours presents intimate original plays written for and performed in residential homes. The Landing Theatre Company's micro theatre projects, which began last year with a pair of plays, jointly titled WITHIN THESE WALLS, was a great experiment which became a grand success.

Landing is now on its fourth micro project in this long-form format, specifically commissioning local playwrights to develop new work. For this project the company has enlisted the extensive talents of local playwright Elizabeth A.M. Keel, who has penned a funny, sensual romantic comedy about the power of human touch.

The play will be initially performed at its originating location at the Sawyer Heights Lofts in the Heights, then tour to two other residential venues throughout Houston; south in Meyerland and north in Lindale Park for limited performances. Performing in these venues creates an intimate, up-close, immersive theatre experience where the audience sits in the home where the story takes place, and watches the drama unfold around them.

"Louise is a student at the prestigious Academy of Invention, attempting to construct a machine that can emulate human touch. But when her prototype goes haywire, she has to turn to her biggest competition for help: her neighbor Grav, who works on popular, commercial, food-based inventions. As the night evaporates around them, they race to solve the bugs in Louise's machine. Override is a sweet, sci-fi romantic comedy, and is a reminder about the power of contact through the body, heart, and mind."
