The Grand 1894 Opera House to Present Jaston Williams' A WOLVERINE WALKS INTO A BAR
Join Jaston Williams (of Tuna, Texas fame), Lauren Lane (veteran actress from TV's "The Nanny") and Kevin Bailey (veteran Broadway actor) as they bring to life a bevy of colorful, quirky and endearing American characters in multiple short scenes, including a pacifist from Texas who bonds with a gun-toting grandma, an elderly Grande Dame and world traveler who has a history of sinking gondolas, an Anglo man who longs to be Hispanic, married to a Hispanic woman who wants to be Anglo and the most unlikely couple to ever dance the cotton-eyed Joe!
The Grand's stage will be transformed into a "bar-like atmosphere" with a few Audience members seated around small tables as part of the set. Be prepared to laugh out loud as Williams, Lane and Bailey take us through an evening of memorizing characters while having a cold one at the bar.
Each story is tied together with "News of the Weird" and each scene is told through the eyes of a guest director. Directors include: Kevin Bailey, Linda Donahue, Kristin Rogers and Robert Tolaro. Named "...one of Texas' best storytellers!" by the Austin American-Statesman and recipient of the 2013 Texas Medal of Arts Award, don't miss this chance to join Jaston Williams alongside TV veteran Lauren Lane and Kevin Bailey for an evening filled with humor, stories (real or otherwise), never before performed material, and a lot of laughs.
